Paoli's Return to Corsica

The Corsicans handed Paoli so much power immediately upon his return. He had proved an incredibly capable leader during his time ruling the island. His government had been popular, and importantly, it was broadly popular. But for some of those same reasons, it was incredibly dangerous to have given him so much power.
