Is There a Careerism in Academics?

The best thing that could happen with the James Webb Space Telescope images is something there that no one can explain. That's the fun part of science then begins because you have these pre-existing theories, these ideas about how the universe works. But my guess is it's not a good career move to say that your entire floor in some way - even if you do have a better idea.
