The three C's, as you call it, are curation, corroboration, and critical opinion. Can think about it as kind of opinion, or sorry, a pyramid with the most important thing at the bottom being corroboration. The media is such an important piece of our collective sense making apparatus because it includes many different organizations competing to call each other out on bullshit.
