We Don't Have the Power to Come to Him in Our Fallen State
We don't have the power to come to him in our fallen state. But nevertheless, jesus makes it very clear here that can't just anybody come to him but it has to be somebody that the father has drawn to him. So he's talking to a dead person. He's written these things so that they can believe, and that, by believing, they may have life.
