Is JavaScript a Good Selling Point?

Every absolutely every tutorial on the web just recommends your use JavaScript. There are libraries for like like 10 libraries for every problem and every problem they are solving basically the same problem in a slightly different way. As a reactor I can easily add a part so let's take a rich text editor for example using one of the popular react based libraries for a large JavaScript based libraries but still have the full the main part of the state living on the server. It is always hard to pick the best one if you're a developer trying to get picked up because there are so many moving things going on at once.
