The Relationship Between Judaism and Liberalism
The relationship between religion and politics has become a political question. How do you think, as a rabbi who occupies the sacred centre, if i can say that? There are aspects of judaism and of jewish theology that seem to enshrine the value of individual dignity which make it compatible with certain features of liberalism. So even if jewish sources don't entirely aline with liberalism, they certainly ought to be fighting for a liberal society. We want to be able to protect the right to believe in different things because we've been offensive to most of human history.
