The Importance of Mindfulness in Psychotherapy

A lot of what we're doing is helping people experience what they were denied the validity of experiencing when they were younger. It's a defense against let's say assertiveness and anger so I see more and more in my work it's not the only thing we do as psychotherapists. If we learn something like mindfulness or concentration in an Asian tradition it can provide a tool that can carry over into the psychotherapeutic endeavor for allowing people to be much more sensitive to themselves.
