Bilbo gives the elven king a gift. He asks, why are you giving me a gift? I haven't earned anything. And then Bilbo says that he was inside your castle invisible when you captured the dwarves and ate some of your food secretly. The elven king is very impressed by him because it's a very nice thing to do,. So the elvenKing says, you know, you are, I'm, I give you the title of elf friend. You will always be a friend of the elves...and help you."
