How Did You Become an Economist?
i want to start with your intellectual background and influences. What made you pursue this path and become an economist who studies religion? You come from the family of doctor paly rather christian. This influenced my earlyr interest in religion, for sure. In terms of how i got into economics,. Actually started out a here doing workn religion and demography. That was really how i first started looking at demographic differences between religious groups in india. I think it's also a question of jobs or status, you know, relative status of between the genders, and so on and so forth. But long term, i think this is something that needs to be looked at very closely.
