The Big Bang and the Origin of the Universe
The Big Bang model of the universe was a happy marriage between math and telescopes. Albert Einstein came up with a theory that could be applied to the whole universe. Edwin Hubble using some tools developed by Henrietta Swan Levitt figured out how far away galaxies were from us. But what was weird is that at every car that Hubble looked at it was driving away from him. We don't know about cosmology and one of the wonderful things about trying to understand the universe is that we have more questions than answers.
