Tarantino took scenes from a script called Open Road, which was Roger Avery's movie that became true romance. Tarantino rewrote those and kind of massaged everything. He basically forced Roger Avery off of the screenwriting credit into a story by credit. But in his defense, Roger Avery says that Tarantino's a genius.
