X Rays of Electronics
For people who do a lot of, like, electronics assembly, it's very common to x ray boards and look for defects. When the printed circuit boards have multiple layers, you can only see stuff that's on the exterior layer. So i think for like, your mother boarding your computer, it's common to have five plus layers internally,. Like overtop of each other, routing ground planes all the stuff. And you can't see that from the outside, so if there's a break or an issue, you wouldn't be able to detect it.
