Is There a Difference Between Normals and Reputation?

We have these acital norms that aren't necessarily biologically developed, but are things that we all kind of agree on. And this is where gossip and reputation come in, because we use gossip to tell other people in our group about when other people aren't following norms. We know that if we don't follow norms, then we will be gossiped about it, and we will lose reputation and lose face within the group. This one is fairly straightforward. I mean, that where it gets relevant is that it's the reason that a lot of our selfish intentions are hidden from us,. Because there's a norm against outward bragging, selfishness, right?
