San Dimitrii and Maurice wanted to open a community-run grocery store in Sa'ari, New York. The borough council denied their permit because the building was too old and needed renovations. A few hours after the council's rejection, Dimitri's girlfriend showed him a post on the Sa'ari neighborhood Facebook group. On the phone, Patrick, the owner of the space, told Dimitri that the space, L'Oucal, was still available.
