Gary Lachman's new book is called Dreaming Ahead of Time, Experiences in Pre-Cognitive Dreams, Synchronities and Coincidence. The hypnagogic state itself is pretty compelling, knowing just how many mystics and clairvoyants use that half-awake, half-dreaming state. I would certainly say I've had dreams where the details felt more real than waking life.
