Introduction

Eight Jee Tas from Namibia and 12 more from South Africa were translocated to India as part of an initiative to reintroduce the species. The animals who were released in the Koonon National Park in Madhya Pradesh seemed to be doing well until within a span of a month, two out of the 20 Jee Tas died. One of the Jee Tas was spotted in a village outside the National Park area, sparking fears of Jee Tas human conflict. We have with us today one of the scientists behind the letter on the spatial ecology of these translocated Jee Tas in India.
