The United States and China in the Far East
The Chinese don't look to France or Germany for signals about the security order of the inter-Pacific. There are two countries that have full alignment with the United States in terms of its China policy: Canada and Mexico. Japan is not likely to be as tough on China as people think about it; they always find a way to make a deal. In their overall orientation of their economy, they want to do more with China.
