In the late 19 nineties, Catherine flegel is a statustacian who works at the c d c. She's one of the first people to notice that Americans are getting fatter. So in two thousand she starts working on a paper about obesity and health. We've talked abut this like four times on the show already. It's basitly this study that makes huge headlines for saying thatesity causes 365 deaths per year. But what does not know is elsewhere at the c t c, another team is also working on this issue.
