Unlike the other two novels, your book is actually a collection of connected short stories. This form allows you to cover a lot of temporal ground and I wondered if that's why you chose it. So there was never a preset plan of, you know, starting the book in 1980 and ending in 2010. But as I was writing, the book,. I just found that the characters were set in across three decades of time. In that way, I think the stories sort of depict a changing India.
