Is a Typewriter and an Ambulance the Same?

A typewriter is about birth, invention and human thrusting forward of the mind. Ambulances ar more about a dis functional, broken, sometimes completely finished thing. So that's why they're opposite. The speaker of the poem now is trying to cope, i think, with this thing. But also there's all that i don't quite understand when it said, imagine words flying off the red tongue of its ribbon,. Is the whole thinga imagining? Is this an imagined incident, which is like just a good shocking ending for the poem.
