Do the Numbers Really Mean Anything?
I think the numbers that got tossed around in the debate just do sound like numbers because people don't actually know how much is spent on things. The one number that kind of cuts through is when people hear that the debt, over all state debt, is more than a trillion pounds. And it comes back again to the point about how all this is been set up, that the deficit is the most important thing and hat it is the end of the universe if we don't get the deficit to zero.
