Glenn Matlock was the main writer on a lot of their hits as much as Steve Jones says it's not totally true. It is weird though because you list I love every single classic rock disco song and yet an Elton should have been able to kill it but didn't work out. They brought in somebody who looked he had the perfect look for a punk band but he couldn't play the bass. He was just the most self-destructive person to ever live.
