Growing up in poverty puts kids at risk for a host of negative outcomes. Nutrition, access to healthcare and exposure to secondhand smoke or lead are among the things associated with growing up in poverty. What particular experiences might be able to be targeted to promote brain development? The only real way to answer that is through a randomized controlled trial.
