What Is a Pigment and How Do They Work That Out?

By seeing a particular pigment inside the dinosaur feathers thenton and his team could work out what color that dinosaur was. The melanosomes were so small these are tiny tiny that they can only be seen under a scanning electron microscope. They're about one micron in size which is one millionth of a meter.
