I think a conservative would make something like a utilitarian argument with the broken windows theory of crime. So if you have pornography houses, pre-internet or prostitutes walking the street or whatever, it brings the whole thing down. And so it isn't just two consenting adults mind your own business, it brings down the neighborhood or the society. That in a way, I mean, conservatives tend to make more deontological arguments based on their religious principles. But they might be right. It's an potentially answerable question,. Like, does the existence of prostitution in a society makes sex worse for everybody?

Why do we feel like in order to be productive, happy, or good, we must sacrifice everything else? Is it possible to feel all three at once? Without even knowing it, we’re doing things everyday to sabotage ourselves and our societies, habits that prevent us from optimizing long term happiness.
