The Legend of Agamemnon

Plutarch tells the story of a Gisallaeus, who was sent by Sparta to lead them in defense against Persia. The Spartan general wanted to start off their expedition on the right foot but had a disturbing dream before he set sail. Plutarch: As they're right there in the middle of the proceedings, small band of horsemen appears in the distance coming fast. He says it's the Thebans, an allied city that refused to send any troops for this Asian invasion.
