The Search for Many Universes
The speed of light is actually the maximum speed that anything can reach. Originally, I believe like it was kind of postulated as the speed of causality. Because photons are massless, they don't interact with the Higgs field,. And that's the only reason that they can go to the fastest speed. So the speed isn't dependent on the photons. The photons are dependent on the speed.
