Casefile True Crime

CHAPTER

Bernard La Roche's Handwriting Matches the Crow

The case against Bernard La Roche became increasingly unstable. Christine Vilmaan was interrogated for nine hours and her story never changed. A newly appointed panel of handwriting experts were tasked with examining the letters from the crow. They revealed to Christine that her handwriting matched the crow at a probability of 80%. The results did nothing to change Jean-Marie Vilmaan's mind. He told reporters, between the experts and Bernard's word, I trust my wife. But for the grieving father, it was all becoming too much. Not only had he lost his beloved son, he felt like the media and the law enforcement were trying to turn him against his wife.
