The Difference Between Human Beings and Other Animals

Angelic thinking does not involve any sensory interaction with the physical world, whereas our way of knowing is fundamentally dependent on the senses. Nothing is in the mind that was not first in the senses, with very few exceptions. A sign of our dependence on the phantasm is that we can't help but visualize something we're talking about. Unlike angels, we need to reason from one thing to another, from premises to conclusions.
