The Greatest Economic Conflagration in the History of the Russian Empire
From this little spark grew the greatest economic conflagration in the history of the russian empire. On september twentieth, 19 o five, printers in moscow went on strike. A few days after the authorities were predicting that the printer's strike was contained, prince trubiskoy, the liberal, noble leader of the zemstva, dropped dead at the age forty three. After the funeral, a group of students were walking to another meeting when they were attacked by cossack cavalry guards who beat the students and arrested about 20 of them. This unprovoked attack on tribeskoy's mourners outraged public opinion. Tempers were now running very high among students
