MapReduce Is No Good
Even back in 2004, there were superior design patterns that ideally they would have used. MapReduce got all this PR from Google must know what they're doing. In 2009, we wrote a paper that benchmarked the open source version of Hadoop against parallel warehouse database systems. The criticism from the parallel database guys was withering. It's not flexible enough. Nobody wants it.
