No other skeletal sample from this period shows the extent of healed trauma. Some significant portion of the dead were either full-time professional warriors or at the very least part-time, but experienced fighters. Dozens of stab wounds from swords, spears, and knives show up across the bones of the ribcage and spine. One combatant was stabbed so forcefully and the lead with a bronze spear that his femur snapped in half.
