Aren't Automatic Weapons Now That Changed in the Law?

David tippito explains that the devidians had nothing to hide. The only valid argument was about filling out the right forms and paying the appropriate fees, not illegal firearms as such. Fully automatic weapons could be bought or converted if the buyer or owner obtained a permit from local police and paid a 200 dollar registration fee. There have been changes in the law in the last 30 years since this happened but i'ud have to check on the exact status of these issues.
