The Dismantling of the Cast System

Bimra al-Baidgar is sometimes mistakenly misrecognized as the Thomas Jefferson of India. He was a political radical who trained in economics under John Dewey at Columbia University. The central rotunda library he spent time in was illuminated by an "en enchanted tragic moon" that provided indirect light not for reading per se but to participate in enlightened learning and critical education. Baidgar attempted to build into the Indian constitution his own cast system which continues to this day to be contested and opposed by cast Hindus in particular.
