The Sacrifice of the Hobbits
Tolkien really knows what it is like to look at the gates of Mordor and have to come back to everyday life in Oxford or the Shire. Frodo recognizes that he has to, which I think is also related to this like power corrupting effect of the ring. There are other forces that work in this world besides evil, so besides the Bilbo was meant to find the ring, you were also meant to have your own sacrifice as a public servant.
