The Importance of Growth Mindset

If you penalize every body every time they use it, we didn't financially penalize them up. We've never had any budgetary problems in the early days. It became then a case of if somebody used the word ability, everybody sort of winced. Or if somebody came into the school and started talking about the most able pupils,. You'd see children in the assembly hall looking at each other as if they'd sworn - what are you going to do about it? And we would sort of nicely pick them up and say, actually, we don't use that language in this school. So you even talk explicitly to the students, like, we don’t use the word ability
