In 2011, a cold case task force is assembled in New Ego and the very first case they decide to look into is Shannon's. In addition to reviewing everything from the original investigation, these new investigators also put together a victimology report. Basically, they want to know everything about who Shannon was thinking that it'll give them a clue as to who killed her. Her class ring is missing. She always wore it on her body when she died, nor was it back at her dad’s house. That's what they're hoping for: To find her killer or killers. But if they ask any of those questions, it is never reported on an investigator seemed to just move on
