Oral Cancer Diagnostic Devices

There are several light-based oral cancer diagnostic devices in the marketplace. Can they add value to our repertoire and my second part of the question is who should use them the dentist, the hygienist? Okay. When you talk about these tools they used to be known as oral diagnostic aids and the way that these tools were introduced to the market is actually not how we normally use them. So I don't think there's any problem with using them as a screening device so long it doesn't lose fluorescence anything like inflammation or dysplasia. They'll also pick up a lot of things that aren't cancers so you have to be judicious in your referral process.
