How to Write a Ballad

The ballads are usually easier for me cause they're the ones that contain the most melody and so it gives you a sense of freedom more than anything. You're mainly looking for a melody when you're writing a ballad like something you can really hang that chorus on or. Yeah it's always easier coming up with a beautiful verse but where it leads to it's very difficult. And one thing on this record that I learned about my own writing was I had no idea that some of the guys that I was recording with they were finding it difficult to play the song which I surprised at.
