Is the Monitor Hanging Off the Wall?

I think stuff about the future where people are less aware than we are right now of what is out there. Why does DJ stick gum to the screen of his ship? Like he sticks, he takes a gun. Puts on the screen. It's such a weird thing. The monitor was like hanging off the wall. That's your workplace. That's where you work. I just thought it was hilarious that there's a CD. And I guess maybe the end universe explanation is that they're military and they're not actually like astronauts. They're just like blue collar astronauts. Maybe.
