Aspiration Is the Acquisition of Value, Right?
Aspiration is the acquisition of value, you could acquire false values as well as true ones. So I think people sometimes value things that aren't valuable. When you're ambitious, you're not trying to come to value something new. You're just trying to satisfy desires or values you already have. And every time I tell the story of the aspiring gangster, I found that it could equally well be read as the stories of the ambitious gangster. We wouldn't call it aspiration otherwise.
