The Consequences of Typewriter Jamming
The generally accepted reason for the QWERTY is that it was created to stop typewriters from jamming up. "I actually have typed on a mechanical typewriter like that, and it is a real pain in the butt when it jams," he says. He used to write out his stories on an electric typewriter as a kid just for fun.
