The Disagreement With Relationship to Our Funding Model

I was watching the succession finale this week. Logan Lazarus like kind of came up like the undertaker and he won WrestleMania. It made me reflect on the fact that we are reliant on audience goodwill because that is our funding model. So how do you make room for things which might challenge contradict or even piss off some of our audience? Or do you think there's a degree of self-censorship involved?
