There are reasons to believe that there are real entities involved in this, but whether a person believes the real entities are not the descriptions and the gospels, certainly fit. The indigenous explanation makes a whole lot more sense for this green blob coming out of the person's back where there was no orifice or anything. There is evidence for them, even in the anthropological literature. And you're just a materialistic worldview excludes these things if you don't a priori, exclude them.
