What Is a Prior and a Posterior?
A prior is a belief before the time that we're examining an action. Beth might come into this situation with me and she has maybe she has a prior that I tend to be late. But if I text her and I say, I'm going to be 20 minutes early, then she's going to have to integrate that new information into now her kind of model of me. The posterior is a new belief you have after you've seen a new observation.
