The films of Péméd Sieden are famous for the slowness with which they proceed. In his film Thalo, for example, the shepherd is shown for 12 minutes simply sitting among the mountains among his sheep. Visitors to the country often noticed that Tibetans would spend a long time just gazing at one object,. whether it was a distant peak or a ball or leaves. They could sit quite happily like this for a long time. It was extremely important for him to get this Tibetan point of view into cinema.
