The Metaphors of the New Tech
i agree that a lot of stuff that you hear about the metaphors, or even like facebook turning into meta, this whole idea that virtual reality is going to be the new thing. And what i want to tease apart here actually is the distinction between those sales picces that people might give us, and which we can accept or reject,. verses the ways of looking at the world that they reveal. In knaw fortnight might turn out to be a game that endures, it might not. But in the sales pitches that they give us, we start to see how some of the richest and most powerful people in the world look at humanity and our place within the world.
