Beauty is, you know, even with surgery, increasingly difficult to hold on to. This being said, one of the big mitigating factors is the bond that you have in a relationship. loyalty, protectionism and territorialism are mitigating what would otherwise be a ruthless status game. And so yes, it can be lenging if you're in relationship and somebody rapidly gains or loses mate value. But i don't think it's that big of a deal overall, if you choose the right sort of partner.
