How to Create a Student Study Guide

Students in the lecture are listening for connections, making notes and benefiting from generative effects of note taking. Once they've done a good enough job of ensuring there's coherence there once they've done that the next step to really getting this into long-term memory you suggest is for students to create study guides. I recommend that your study guide take a question answer format but if you're going to take an essay exam you absolutely can create a study guide that is in question answer form.
