The Biggest Cause of Stress in the Classroom
Stress is the biggest cause of stress in a real life situation. Social, social evaluative threat and uncontrollability are two other big causes. We need to make it not about judging people for being clever or hardworking - that can be stressful. And so we don't want to highlight when someone gets something wrong. If we're doing retrieval practice and we want it to be low stakes, let's keep that down. It doesn't matter whether you get it right or wrong but active practicing is going to help you improve.
